What is the length of the blue line labeled r in the image below? Give your answer in terms of a and b.

And this one................
WebAssign will do simple calculations for you, using +, -, *, /, parentheses, and E-notation. For example, if a question asks for half the sum of 246 and 388, you can enter "(246+388)/2". For more complicated calculations you'll need to use a calculator and then enter your result. What is the product of 110 and 160?
Thanks,

I know that, but how do you write it the way they want you too?

r = sqrt(a^2 + b^2)I know that, but how do you write it the way they want you too?
or
r^2 = a^2 + b^2
I'm still not convinced you're not trolling.

Is this right?uh... sqrt(a^2+b^2)=r ... pythagorean theorem
Hey,I'm just a construction worker trying to help his kid with her homework.

yes I do but its not just addition in this caseDude, I just read the second question. Now I know you're trolling. You don't know what a fucking 'product' is?
The answer is not 270

And if she's getting homework on this surely she was taught this in class?
r=(a^2+b^2)^0.5 or r=sqrt(a^2+b^2) will do it. And the second one...17600?
You don't know what a product is, do you?yes I do but its not just addition in this caseThe answer is not 270

Thanks you I will try these answers on the computer she is using.Dude. In your house you have something called a computer. On it, your daughter can use something called the internet. On the internet there is a search engine called Google. And if she's getting homework on this surely she was taught this in class?
r=(a^2+b^2)^0.5 or r=sqrt(a^2+b^2) will do it. And the second one...17600?
You don't know what a product is, do you?
This is something she got for extra credit over the summer.
